bio

Covering a story takes me up in a plane, out in a boat, underwater, in a smelt shack, in a duck blind. I take on assignments for magazines, book publishers and newspapers, non-profits and entrepreneurs. I built a studio to create stock - lots and lots of stock. Creative, fun, quirky stuff. Vivid and clean. My stock file is managed by National Geographic Stock.

My first book was Confluence: Merrymeeting Bay (Tilbury House Publishers 2006, Author Frank Burroughs) and I just finished another book with a working title The Maine Boat, (Author Michael Crowley). In 2004, I was awarded a Photographic Development Contract from National Geographic Magazine for my slimy, nocturnal work with American eels. In 2008 I joined the team at SwimVacation as a swim guide and photographer. In 2009 I collaborated with free diving videographer Steve Underwood in the development of an underwater studio.

In my boundless search for outlets for creative expression, I moonlight as an actor with the Theater Project Professional Company in Brunswick, Maine. I love to quilt and paint, and I swim every day. I live with my husband, son Finn, and one cat.

I’m happiest in, on and under water.
